Portrait Suite: Vita Cochran Artist

The story behind Vita Cochran’s work really interested me and capturing one of her latest pieces & portrait for her exhibition’s brocure was extremely rewarding.

Vita’s story:

Vita is a New Zealand artist who currently lives in Sydney. Back in 2000 Vita began making handbags and various other objects including bracelets and scarves. Her most recent exhibition at the Anna Mile Gallery feautured a series of woven rugs based on those depicted in notable paintings. The rug featured here was based on Édouard Vuillard’s Three Women in a Room with Rose-Coloured Wallpaper, 1895.

It’s a real treat to browse Vita’s website which features her work and a beautifully curated section on ‘the making’. Vita is more than happy to make pieces to order and is available for on-off commisisons.
