Evolution of the Photo Session Brief

Throughout our four-year collaboration spanning 14 unique photo sessions, the objectives have remained steadfast: to produce images that are essential for each collection’s launch. 

These images are meticulously crafted to ensure colour accuracy for catalogues and e-commerce platforms. We also want to capture the flow and movement of the pieces, and how they can be styled to suit various figures.

From full-length poses that showcase the craftsmanship of her garments to intricate details of fabrics, every image serves a purpose in telling Eva’s story of slow, gorgeous fashion.

Embracing Social Media Dynamics

Early on, Eva recognised the power of social media in amplifying her brand’s presence. She made a strategic shift, preferring square-cropped images tailored for digital platforms over traditional portrait or landscape. 

This decision did pose initial challenges due to studio constraints, but after a few tweaks, we managed to unlock some really dynamic opportunities for both parties.

By shedding traditional backgrounds and embracing more authentic, visually compelling compositions (some of which show the actual backdrop frame and lighting) we elevated Eva’s branding to resonate authentically with her audience.

Expanding Content Horizons

As Eva’s brand footprint grew, so did the scope of our collaboration. Beyond static images, we began incorporating engaging social media content that offered a behind-the-scenes glimpse into Eva’s creative process. 

These additions, including video grabs and editorial-style visuals, further solidified Eva as the face of her brand, fostering deeper connections with her community.

We found that photographing Eva as she filmed the models on her phone added an unforeseen layer of depth and action to the shots. People love to buy from people, after all, and Eva’s audience resonated with these dynamic yet down-to-earth photos.

Creative Flourishes and Future Prospects

With each session, our creative confidence has grown. Despite the constraints of time and budget, we continue to innovate, exploring techniques like slow exposures to add artistic flair to Eva’s collections. 

This evolution not only reflects our commitment to pushing creative boundaries but also underscores our shared dedication to showcasing the essence of slow fashion through powerful imagery.
